Meet Tina
“Real lives are messy”
Tina Neve, Midlife Career Coach & Therapist
I’ve learned that messy lives don’t always fit neatly into a traditional coaching or therapeutic approach
My own career embodies this. If someone told me 10 years ago that I’d be doing what I’m doing now, I wouldn’t have believed it.
My career story is that I founded Human Decisions and started working in Coaching and Therapy after 30 years working within Human Resources and Executive Search.
My life story includes being a mum, having a miscarriage, a hip replacement, supporting elderly parents and dealing with the grief of losing both parents. And a recent ADHD diagnosis. All these experiences had an impact on my mental health, and my perspectives on life and career.
Similar experiences emerge in my client sessions on a regular basis. They are normal life events. Yet the emotional toll of managing the practicalities of these situations, alongside your working life, can be difficult.
This is why I want to help my clients beyond the surface level, and to meet you at the level of “what’s really going on”. I recognise and honour the feelings and emotions that play a big part in your decision making, and in the stories you tell yourself about your capabilities. But there is a way forward.

How my experience supports you
I’ve been fortunate to have worked with a variety of organisations, from small start-ups to Professional Practices and FTSE Global Brands.
And I’ve supported individuals through times of shock and changes, for example when the dot.com bubble burst, and through the effects of the financial crash in 2008.
I’ve also learnt to take time to look after myself. Self-care isn’t a luxury, it is essential! For me that is making sure I spend time with friends and family, being outside in nature and spending time riding, with my lovely horse Suzie.
As a result, I bring insight, wisdom, perspective, and expertise from all sides of career development, both the practical and the emotional, along with an understanding of how organisations work.
I take a holistic, empathetic, yet challenging approach, understanding that one size does not fit all. In simple terms working this way ensures that clients feel safe and supported whatever issues they bring into a session.

More than coaching and more than therapy
When you choose to work with me, you’ll gain from my unique approach. As one client has said “Some coaches encourage you to open up but then can’t deal with it.”
This is why you’ll gain support without judgement, and insights from my training and MSc in Integrative Counselling and Coaching, accredited by British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
This enables me to work with you in the muddy ground between the past and the present, where the greatest insights and growth occur. This self-awareness creates your foundation for moving forward.
I’m a Registered Integrative Practitioner with BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and a member of their Coaching Division. I’m also a member of the Association of Coaching.
Winner of the Global Start-Up Coaching Award 2024
My values
Compassion
Being active and non-judgemental in my care and concern for clients and others. It’s about translating compassion into action.
Social justice
This means trusting in myself and standing up for what feels fair and right. It also means calling out what I perceive to be psychologically unsafe or wrong.
Collaboration
This means walking alongside my clients, supporting them and inspiring them to imagine and believe they can become a new version of themselves.
Candour
Being forthright, open, honest and sincere.
Guided by nature
Recognising that we’re all connected, not isolated and separate, which invites self-compassion.
How I work with you
You may feel adrift in your current role and uncertain of your options in work and life. You may be feeling raw or wounded by recent experiences.
Yet the pressing questions remain:
- Do you stay?
- Do you look for a different role?
- Do you know what you want?
My holistic spiral framework takes you on a journey from discovery to fulfilment. It helps you uncover your mastery, develop self-leadership and explore who you want to become.
This human approach gives you the confidence and clarity to rebuild your career, feel vibrant again and step into a future you might not yet be able to see.
